I’ve been (somewhat) steadily publishing since fall 2012. That’s seven years (and counting!) of stories in my back catalog, some of which aren’t even available in any retailer. Other stories are drafts or mere concepts, left unfinished and unpublished. I’ll be rotating other stories in and out of The Library as well, so check back again to see what new stories have been added since your last visit.
Catalogue > Girlfriend on Paper
Title is very much subject to change. I started writing Girlfriend on Paper as one very specific type of story, and something about the story never quite fully clicked for me, even as I wrote page after page. I started tinkering around with the idea of doing something supernatural to kick it up a notch, and that led to the path of an interesting thought experiment: writing a dual narrative. I’ll explain more about that later, as I’m not ready to publish those chapters quite yet. But I do have plenty of chapters to share now from at least one perspective.
Catalogue > The Fourth of Briar Wood
When three women cast a powerful spell in the woods of Santa Lucia, it has a strange effect on high-schooler Amara Hargrove. She’s missing chunks of time, experiencing things both peculiar and frightening, and seeing her parents in a whole new light. With the help of an old friend, Amara discovers that her life, and perhaps her very existence, is not at all what she thought it was, and that something supernatural is coming to their small town whether they are ready or not.
Read each “episode” like you would watch an episode of your favorite TV show. While each part is a self-contained story, they also contribute to a more expansive narrative that is the world of The Fourth of Briar Wood.
Catalogue > Spectrum
I started writing Spectrum around the time I was writing Heartlines, the sixth and last book in the Nick and Layla series. I was very intrigued with a new character I introduced who in some ways encapsulated all the drama of what started the Nick and Layla romance series to begin with (music, fame, relationship drama, complicated feelings, betrayal). If you read that series you may enjoy reading Spectrum. Right now it is a very long first chapter, or introduction to what could be a much larger story. Is it a sequel to Nick and Layla? Kinda. I haven’t touched this one in a while but it definitely sits in the back of my mind, patiently waiting for its time in the sun.
Catalogue > Untitled Fantasy
I started this story years ago and while I really like how it starts, for some reason I never kept going or picked it up again. Because I do like the story world I had in mind for this particular story, I’ve decided to use it as a prequel of sorts for another book I’ve been working on for a few years as well. You may have stumbled upon some hidden content related to that story around the site. One day I’ll find a way to incorporate these few chapters into the overall story.
This story is currently undergoing rewrites in the first four chapters. I’ll announce when I add in the new/updated chapters.
